Eden, NC -- Deputies said a man charged with breaking and entering into a vehicle over the weekend can blame himself for getting caught.

A couple spotted the man breaking into their truck at their home on Shady Grove Road early Saturday morning, according to investigators. When they went outside, he ran into the woods and left his vehicle on their property.

Detectives with the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the home around 4:30 am.

Investigators asked the couple about a van on their property. They told officers it didn't belong to them. A deputy called in the tag and learned it was registered to Joshua Worley of Eden.

Worley was spotted later by officers, walking along the road, not far from the victims' home.

Worley was arrested and charged with Felonious Breaking and Entering into a Motor Vehicle, Misdemeanor Larceny and Possession of Burglary Tools. His van was seized by the sheriff's office.

Worley was placed in the Rockingham County Jail under a $5,000 secured bond.
