High Point, NC -- Walking into a showroom at the High Point Market is like walking into a dream world filled with accent chairs, kitchen tables, bedspreads, pillows, wall décor and the works.
There are so many things to look at and so little time to do it. Imagine spending an entire day at IKEA; now picture more than 2,000 exhibitors, 180 buildings, and 11.5 million square feet of showspace.
It's almost like NY Fashion Week, but in High Point - and with furniture. There are people everywhere and buyers turning every corner. Designers walk the floors explaining their inspiration and what's new for the season.
I must say, I felt like a furniture-nista walking around the showrooms inside the International Home Furnishings Center (IHFC). After barely scratching the surface of this mega décor world, I think I could have spent hours more looking at every detail.
No doubt, you will see some lovely, elegant, funky furniture this season to come to a store near you. I know I must have said, "Oh I love this," a million times. I couldn't help but be distracted by the vases, rugs, mirrors and lamps.
I know many of you rent out your homes during furniture market and get the heck out of dodge, but if you ever get the chance to go, do it.
I can't wait to one day redecorate my house with what I saw at the High Point Market, but for now I'll have to just dream.
The High Point Market wraps-up Thursday, but there's always fall market.
