Elon, NC-- There's no greater way of learning than from experience. Equally, there's no better way of teaching than hands on.
That was how students at Western Alamance High School learned about the dangers of texting and driving on Thursday. Students were able to use AWARE-TXT, which is a texting and driving simulator.
AWARE-TXT, allowed students and school staff to sit in a 'real' car and experience different road conditions, which included weather effects. They were then challenged with trying to text while driving.
The simulator was sponsored by Don Allred Insurance, Western Alamance and PEER which is a health awareness company.
