An overturned tractor-trailer early April 9 closed one lane of traffic on US 52 South at Exit 103.
Winston-Salem, NC -- An overturned tractor-trailer has closed one of two lanes on US-52 South in Forsyth County, near Winston-Salem.
The incident happened around 5:45 am, according to the NC DOT. The left lane near Main Street, Exit 103, is closed.
Forsyth County EMS said the driver was treated for minor injuries, but was not transported to the hospital.
The lane is not expected to reopen until later Tuesday evening. The NC DOT advises motorists to remain alert and expect delays.
This is the 4th overturned truck that has shutdown a major highway in a month's time. On March 8th, all lanes of I-85 were closed near exit 84 in Davidson Co. In Greensboro, N.C.D.O.T was at another flipped tractor-trailer on March 19th. It overturned on business I-85 near the I-40 split. And another truck was caring 7,500 gallons of fuel on March 27th.
Highway Patrol says there are many factors that can cause a tanker to overturn. State Trooper Greg Ingram says speed, the location and the weight of the truck all can contribute to a possible accident.
