Triad -- For those who have been waiting patiently, and even the ones who haven't, this is the week of the warm-up.

A high pressure system is in place off the eastern seaboard.  As a result, we enjoyed plenty of sun and southerly winds on Sunday.  That meant highs in the low 70s across most of the Triad.

The warming doesn't stop there.  On Monday morning, as many kids go back to school for the first time after spring break, it will actually feel like spring.  Lows to start the day will be close to 50.  By the end of the day, highs will reach the mid 70s.

From there, we gradually get warmer each day.  Tuesday will take us to the upper 70s and we could hit 80 by Wednesday.  As a bonus, we get to enjoy dry weather the first half of the week.

By Thursday, a low pressure system will approach and take our rain chances back up.  There is the possibility of a shower or thunderstorm Thursday evening and through the night.  We could still have showers stretching into Friday.  Still temperatures will remain mild and in the 70s both days.

By next weekend, it will cool down a bit.  However, we won't return to the 40s and 50s.  Highs will only scale back to the mid to upper 60s.
