Clemmons, NC -- When it comes to a medical emergency, minutes matter.
This might be part of why we are seeing more and more smaller campuses affiliated with large hospitals.
Novant Health is just the latest large hospital owner to open a smaller community campus, in our area.
Sunday, was the open house at Clemmons Medical Center, where patients will have access to emergency and surgical services, along with an imaging center.
"It brings another layer of care to our primary physicians who have had a long standing relationship in this area for years. It allows them to better treat patients in a more sophisticated way in terms of specialist and surgical and emergency care, more that next level of care," said Chad Setliff, Clemmons Medical Center Vice President.
All of the services are out patient, at least for now.
Five years ago, both Novant Health and Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center went to the state board in hopes of building an inpatient facility.
The state said they both could build outpatient facilities, but not add any inpatient services until the year 2017.
Baptist's out patient facility is under construction in Davie county. It's slated to open in October.
Clemmons Medical Center will open April 3.
The services will be similar, offering patients in the area even more choices.
