Greensboro, NC -- A district court judge sentenced a Reidsville man in a child pornography case Tuesday, according to U.S. Attorney Ripley Rand.
District Judge Thomas D. Schroeder sentenced Michael Scott Bugher to five years in prison followed by 10 years supervised release March 19.
Bugher, 44, had already pleaded guilty to one count of receipt of child pornography prior to the sentencing.
Reidsville police and the State Bureau of Investigation investigated Bugher's case.
Authorities found out about Bugher through Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to locate, arrest and prosecute suspects who exploit children on the Internet. The program also helps identify and rescue victims.
