Winston-Salem, NC -- Let's face it. We live in a "go all the time" world. Between twitter, facebook, email, texts, phone calls, work, family... There's always something to do!
But Wake Forest University is trying to get us all to just stop. Kim Struglinski, WFU Fellow in the Office of the President, said, "People spend a lot of time going to and from their classes, to meetings, to their dorms and don't spend a lot of time lingering in the outdoor spaces that we have."
So the university brought in professional developers to bring new life to the quad's outdoor spaces. They've added moveable tables and chairs, outdoor reading areas, outdoor ping pong and foosball tables, and more ways students could take a break from the rigors of college. Struglinski said they really wanted the students to decide how and where the new tables and chairs would go. "One day, after Thanksgiving break, all of these tables and chairs just appeared and we let students choose how they wanted to use them, so of discover how they wanted to use this project themselves."
Students and staff have been taking advantage especially on those nice weather days.
