Randolph County, NC -- The Randolph County Sheriff's Office helped in the arrest of two people charged in a counterfeit operation. It all started after they discovered counterfeit $20 bills being passed around in the western part of the county.
Investigators found out a person and a business, David's Place on HWY 64 in Asheboro, received the bills. The U.S. Secret Service, NC Bureau of Investigations, and the Randolph County Sheriff's Office obtained a search warrant for an address on Cameron Circle in Asheboro. That's where they seized a computer used for making counterfeit bills and an undisclosed amount of counterfeit money.
They arrested two people in connection with the counterfeit bust. Bobby Dewayne Small is charged with one count of Possessing more than Five Counterfeit Instruments. Heather Nicole Hollar was charged with two counts of Obtaining Property by False Pretense, two counts of Forgery of Instrument, and one count Possessing more than Five Counterfeit Instruments.
Both people are in the Randolph County Jail under a $25,000 secured bonds.
