Greensboro, NC - Guilford Technical Community College and the Interactive Resource Center have teamed up to educate the homeless.
The groups are partnering to provide a GED program.
So far, twenty people have taken the GED assessment to start the program.
The classes will be held at the IRC and students will have access to a computer lab and receive study support from tutors.
"If we can get the participants to obtain their GEDs or their adult high school diplomas they will be more apt and they will be more prepared to get a job," said Steven Jackson, GTCC."A better educated individual is a more equip individual so we hope that it cures or helps to cure the homelessness in Greensboro."
The GED classes start this week.
