Greensboro, NC - Police in Greensboro have identified the body removed from Lake Townsend on Sunday. Police say they were unable to tell the sex, race or gender of the body until they completed a forensics examination.
Police said they have now determined the body belonged to Dorien Daymon Jackson, 18, from Tangle Lane in High Point. The medical examiner ruled the cause of death as a homicide.
"We haven't had a number of cases like this in quite some time. I would say it is unusual. Most crimes happen close to home for the individual that's victimized," Capt. Michael Richey said.
Police have not released information how Jackson died. Right now, they do not have any suspects.
Jackson was reported missing to High Point police by family members January 13. The last time he was seen was January 10.
