Greensboro, NC -- A Madison Elementary fifth-grade teacher didn't spend her 40th birthday eating cake and opening presents; instead, she went out into the community and made a difference.
Shannon Arnold, along with members of Faith Wesleyan Church in Greensboro, fed nearly 200 people living in a tent city near downtown Greensboro Saturday.
Arnold organized the project through Faith Wesleyan's 16 Cents Ministry, which serves food and holds church services at the tent city every Saturday night.
Arnold made all the food she delivered, and even got some help for the event from her students; they collected scarves, hats, gloves and socks to pass out Saturday.
