Greensboro, NC - The American Red Cross and Smith Street Diner are teaming up on Valentine's Day to give people the opportunity to "Dine & Donate," and give the gift of life this Valentine's Day.
Beginning at 10:00am, the Red Cross Bloodmobile will be parked outside Smith Street Diner taking blood donations. Blood donors will receive free drinks from Smith Street Diner, a free pass to Greene Street Club and a chance to win a free meal from Smith Street Diner.
Smith Street Diner is located on 438 Battleground Avenue in Greensboro.
If you're not eligible to donate, you can still help just by eating breakfast, lunch or dinner at the Diner. Ten percent of the proceeds from all meals will be donated to the Greensboro Chapter of the American Red Cross.
The Red Cross Carolinas Blood Services Region provides lifesaving blood to patients in 103 hospitals. Approximately 1,600 people need to give blood or platelets each week day to meet hospital demands. Blood can be donated every 56 days.
Platelets can be given every seven days, up to 24 times a year. For more information or to schedule an appointment to donate, please call (800) RED CROSS (733-2767) or visit the Red Cross website.
