RALEIGH -- Members of the state's Democratic Party are meeting Saturday to pick new leaders after a poor showing in the 2012 elections.

Hundreds of the party's State Executive Committee members are expected to meet in Durham. The group plans to elect a successor to Chairman David Parker. Analysts expect Pittsboro Mayor Randy Voller, who was the only announced candidate after former Sen. Eric Mansfield dropped out, to be the replacement.

Voller would take over after the state's Democratic Party had a rough time in the most recent elections. Republicans increased their majority at the General Assembly, GOP member Pat McCrory became governor, and the state's electoral votes went to Mitt Romney.

Chairman Parker was criticized last spring for remaining as chairman despite criticism related to a sexual harassment claim at party headquarters involving two former employees.
