Wentworth, NC-- A Rockingham County bus driver was arrested for indecent liberties with a student.
The Rockingham County Sheriff's Office arrested 20-year-old Marcus Miller on Friday.
Miller was a part-time bus driver for the county's high and middle schools.
He joined the Rockingham County School District as an interim bus driver in March of 2012 and was later hired in August.
Miller has been charged with having an inappropriate relationship with a student.
According to the school district, the 20-year-old resigned from his post Friday morning, after school officials confronted him.
School administrators say they notified the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office when they learned about the relationship.
"As part of regular procedures, RCS conducts extensive background checks on all employees. RCS will continue to cooperate with the Rockingham County Sheriff's Department as they complete their investigation," the district wrote in a statement.
Miller was booked into the Rockingham County Jail with a $25,000 bond.
