Greensboro, NC -- It looks like gun enthusiasts don't mind spending money on weapons and ammunition.

Some 12,000 people attended the gun and knife show over the weekend at the Greensboro Coliseum.  Five thousand of those went Sunday.

Organizers say that is about the same number they saw in 2012.

We talked to at least one man who says he didn't buy like he wanted to because of higher prices from some vendors.

A Triad gun range owner says he's hearing stories of price gouging, that tend to happen every time there is a gun controversy in the news.

"I suggest they take stock in who they buy from and later on. To stockpile. To stockpile the ammunition yourself makes no sense if you are paying double what it cost. cause when this is over it's going to go back down to a lower price," said Calibers Owner Carl Abbe.

Abbe says that in his store, he is seeing a shortage of ammunition, both 9 millimeter and 22 caliber.

He says he'll just wait to get the prices he wants from his distributers and wholesalers, so he can keep prices as they've been for the last few years.
