Greensboro--The Piedmont woke to a dangerous layer of ice this morning as temperatures dipped into the low 20's during the night.
It will take a while for the ice to melt. A mix of sun and clouds will allow temperatures to slowly rise above freezing by noon. Highs should reach the low 40's during later today.
With a clear sky tonight, temperatures will fall back into the lower 20's. Any standing water from ice melt today will refreeze and icy spots are likely again early Sunday morning.
