On Saturday, January 26, the International Civil Rights Center and Museum and the U.S. Postal Service will commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation by unveiling a stamp.
President Abraham Lincoln signed the proclamation on January 1, 1863.
Greensboro Postmaster Ronnie White will introduce a limited-edition Forever Stamp with a special stamp dedication presentation.

The US Postal Service said the Emancipation Proclamation Forever Stamp represents freedom and is the first in a series of three Civil Rights stamps to be released in 2013.
