Emancipation Proclamation Stamp Unveiling At International Civil Rights Musuem In Greensboro

Greensboro, NC-- If you are a collector, you will have an additional stamp to add to your stash.  

On Saturday, January 26, the International Civil Rights Center and Museum and the U.S. Postal Service will commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation by unveiling a stamp.

President Abraham Lincoln signed the proclamation on January 1, 1863.

Greensboro Postmaster Ronnie White will introduce a limited-edition Forever Stamp with a special stamp dedication presentation.

Event Information: Saturday, January 26 at 11:30 am.
Location: International Civil Rights Center and Museum, 134 S. Elm Street  in downtown Greensboro.  

The US Postal Service said the Emancipation Proclamation Forever Stamp represents freedom and is the first in a series of three Civil Rights stamps to be released in 2013.
