Greensboro, NC -- The second winter weather system of the season has moved through the Triad.  It is now moving out through the coastal plain.

The precipitation has ended across the Triad and now the next problem is the ice on the roads.  Friday night temperatures will stay fairly steady in the low to mid 20s.  If there is anything on the roads Friday night it will likely still be there in the morning.  Until the sun gets going and temperatures are back above freezing, expect icy patches through about mid morning.

Totals were relatively low. Most places got less than 0.10" of ice accumulation. Still, even small amounts of ice are much worse than a few inches of snow. With snow, you can get a little traction while walking or driving. You just slide around on ice.

It will be cold Friday night and Saturday morning but the sun will be out Saturday and Sunday.  Highs will return to the 40s both weekend days.  Most of what accumulated today won't make it through tomorrow afternoon- except perhaps in shady spots.

Next week, temperatures will climb to the 50s and possibly even the 60s.
