Pilot Mountain, NC - A 17-year-old girl is being treated at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center after she fell 40 feet off a rocky ledge at Pilot Mountain State Park.
Surry County EMS said the girl was found in a ravine by a male friend. The girl was hiking off the Three Bears Trail near the amphitheater when she fell just before 11 a.m.
A physician's assistant and an EMT were hiking in the area and were able to help treat the girl. An EMS representative said it took about an hour to bring the girl back to the truck.
EMS said the girl was conscious when they treated her and was in stable condition when they brought her to the trauma center for treatment.
