Jerusha Smith, organizer of Triad trip to DC.
Triad, NC -- A bus carrying Triad folks leaves Sunday night from Greensboro expected to arrive in DC early Monday morning.
Greensboro native, Jerusha Smith organized a bus trip from Greensboro to DC for the presidential inauguration.
She wanted to do the same thing four years ago, but she couldn't organize the trip because of health reasons.
Smith owns StarRise Entertainment & Travel. She said people were calling her the past month about organizing the trip so she was moved to follow through this time around.
This year is special to her because she participated in the Barack Obama campaign. Also, with the event coinciding with Martin Luther King Day, she felt especially inspired to be a part of the historical day in Washington, DC.
News 2 will be there when her bus trip takes off Friday night at 11:30 p.m. from Greensboro.
