Suspects Break-In, Steal Cigarettes At 3 Stores

Greensboro, NC -- Police are investigating three Saturday morning burglaries where suspects stole cigarretes from stores in Greensboro.

Officers arrived on the scene at the N. Elm St. Walgreens around 1:45 a.m. and found that the front door glass had been broken. Investigators say two suspects broke into the store and took cigarettes before running from the scene.

Police say one suspect was in a red hooded sweatshirt and white gloves, and the second was wearing a checkered hooded sweatshirt and dark gloves.

The second break-in happened at the Food Lion on E. Market St. around 3 a.m. Police say the suspects broke the front glass, entered the store, took cigarettes and ran.

The suspect in this case was wearing a black jacket, black knit cap, blue jeans, brown boots, a white glove, a black glove, and was carrying a backpack and hammer.

In the third burglary, police arrived on the scene at the Alamance Church Road Food Lion just before 4:45 a.m. In this case, the suspect also broke the front door glass to enter the store. He also took cigarettes before running from the scene.

This suspect was wearing a black jacket, black knit cap, blue jeans, brown boots, a white glove, a black glove, and was carrying a backpack and hammer.

It still is not clear if the three incidents are related, and police are still investigating.
