Greensboro, NC -- The story it seems like everyone's talking about this week: Manti Te'o's girlfriend drama. Earlier this week, reports surfaced that Te'o's girlfriend, the one everyone believed died of leukemia, never existed.
Te'o said he was the victim of a hoax and had fallen in love with someone he thought was a woman online. Friday, a friend of Te'o's told ESPN, a man named Ronah Tuiasosopo confessed to her that he was behind the hoax in early December.
As the story unfolds, the question we keep asking is how can you have a relationship and fall in love with someone you've never met? So we turned to therapist Leslie Kausch for answers. She said, "While we may initially be attracted to how someone looks, really we fall in love with people's hearts and minds and that is easily conveyed online. That is easily conveyed through letters, e-mails, Facebook or any of those things. So I don't find it difficult to believe."
