Winston-Salem, NC -- U.S. Marshals arrested a man wanted in Brevard County, FL Monday in Winston-Salem, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

Brandon Rashad Jones, 19, was wanted in Florida on four counts of attempted, first-degree Premeditated Murder and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

The U.S. Marshals Service says Jones got into a "physical altercation" with another person before using an assault weapon to shoot four people on Dec. 24.

The Marshals Service's Joint Fugitive Task Force  was setting up surveillance on Martin Luther King Dr. in Winston-Salem Monday when Jones walked out of a building and into a parking lot, where officers identified him.

Marshals attempted to arrest Jones, but he led them on a short foot chase before being taken into custody.

Jones was taken to the Forsyth County Detention Center and will be extradited to Florida to face his charges.

The U.S. Marshal's JFTF Middle District of North Carolina is made up of investigators from the U.S. Marshals Service, as well as officers from Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point, Chapel Hill, Durham, Alamance County, Orange County, and the state Highway Patrol.
