#PrayForRyan: Prayer Vigil In Clemmons Followed By Basketball Game Honoring Ryan

Clemmons, NC-- West Forsyth student, Ryan Wood, has only been given a few weeks to live by doctors. His friends, family, and community are making sure there are endless support and prayers.

Through the sadness, a story of hope emerged as friends were on Twitter using the hashtag, #PrayForRyan

On Monday, #PrayForRyan has been tweeted nearly 9,000 times.
NBA star, Chris Paul was in on the twitter feed and now is covering the cost of a Make-A-Wish trip.

Ryan Wood is a 16-year-old sophomore at West Forsyth High School. News 2 met him on Friday.

Ryan was told he had beaten a rare cancer called burkitts lymphoma, only to be told a few month later, it was back.

On Tuesday, friends and family gathered at a prayer meeting at Clemmons United Methodist Church at 6:30pm.

Then a basketball game Tuesday night between rivals, West Forsyth High School and Davie County High School prove that Ryan's story is more important than basketball.

Friends of Ryan told News 2's Liz Crawford that students from Davie will wore green, West Forsyth's school color in honor of Ryan.

Both sides were rooting for Ryan and agreed on a "green out", a color representing West Forsyth and lymphoma awareness. Click on the video to hear from Ryan's family and friends.
