Greensboro, NC-- It's common for bank robbers to pass a note during a bank robbery, but probably not during a robbery of a pharmacy.
Police in Greensboro said a man did just that on Wednesday when he robbed a CVS. Officers were dispatched to the pharmacy located on College Road around 4:51pm on a robbery.
Employees told police a man came to the pharmacy counter and passed a note demanding a particular prescription. After getting the requested merchandise the man ran off.
The suspect didn't get very far. Officers from Greensboro Police Western division were in the area during the robbery. They noticed a car driving away from the area of the CVS at high rate of speed. Officers stopped the car in the parking lot of an apartment complex on W. Friendly Ave and talked to the driver.
The suspect Douglas Marshall Costello was taken into custody without incident. Costello was charged with Common Law Robbery.
Police found property taken during the robbery in his car.
