Greensboro, NC-- Greensboro is known for being a settlement city and a melting pot of cultures.

Montagnards especially have called the Triad home for decades.

Monday on Christmas Eve the group held a joint worship service in Greensboro that included Montagnard churches from across North Carolina.

The service was held at Noon at the Glenwood Friends Church on Old Chapman Road.

Photojournalist Fred Hall will have their story at 6pm and digtriad.

Who Are the Montagnards? Montagnards are an ethnic group that come from the hills of Vietnam. Members of the group helped the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. They were targeted by the Communist government as traitors when the war ended.

As families fled to the U.S., Greensboro grew the largest Montagnard community outside of Vietnam. The settlement city became a place of refuge for those seeking safety.

The community remains tight knit.
