Asheboro, NC -- Police say they will not file charges against an Asheboro man who hit and killed a pedestrian Dec. 14.
According to a news release, the crash happened around 7:30 p.m. on N. Fayetteville Rd., just south of Woodcrest Road.
Investigators say a 1999 Isuzu, driven by 92-year-old Edwin Everett Burns, hit Timothy Albert Morris while he was walking.
Morris, 47, died in the crash.
The investigating officer and representatives from the Randolph County District Attorney's Office met and discussed the facts of the crash.
The group decided no charges would be filed against Burns in the case.
Investigators says neither speed nor alcohol were factors for Burns. Morris did, however, have a blood alcohol content of .24--three times the legal limit.
