Greensboro, NC -- The Greensboro Police Department helped almost 100 local children experience the joy of Christmas a little early this year.

The Greensboro Police Officers Association hosted its annual "Christmas with Cops" event Saturday morning. Officers welcomed 98 children from Big Brothers/Big Sisters and Lifespan to the Target off New Garden Road for a Christmas shopping spree.

Former and current Greensboro police officers paired up with the kids for the shopping trip.

The department says this is the most children the GPOA has sponsored since it started the event.
