After the deadly shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Connecticut, parents have a tough topic to explain to their kids.
Richard Maas, a behavioral health expert from Novant Health said it's important to talk to kids at their level.
"Don't talk over their head, but give them the information they're seeking," he said. "Give them the assurance, allow them to express their emotions, but all along giving them that assurance to calm them down."
