Winston-Salem, NC-- When you hear a bell as you're entering or leaving a store to do some shopping, you know it's probably the Salvation Army.

But some shoppers were treated to quite a surprise on Wednesday night.  A Salvation Army bell ringer's station was hijacked by a flash mob.

WFMY News 2 captured the "planned" flash mob by members of Centenary United Methodist Church's Handbell Choir. The ring out happened in front of AC Moore store on Silas Creek Parkway in Winston-Salem.

Every year, just before Thanksgiving, the Salvation Army kicks off it's Red Kettle Campaign. It is the organization's largest fundraiser for services that benefit the community.
