Reidsville, NC-- When a Sheriff holds a news conference, it's normally about a crime or an arrest in one.
That was not the case today. One of the most well known Sheriff's in North Carolina held a news conference Tuesday morning to ask for food.
Sheriff Sam Page was addressing the need for canned and non-perishable food items for those in who need it most this holiday season.
Page said many relief efforts have focused on the victims of Hurricane Sandy, but he wanted to remind the public not to forget their neighbors in Rockingham County and the Piedmont-Triad.
If you're interested in donating in Rockingham County, you can take the items to the American Red Cross Building at 3692 Highway 14 in Reidsville.
