Sophia, NC - They come in all sorts of shapes, sizes and styles, but not every Christmas tree is going to be the right one for you.
It might come down to price or maybe height, but the owners of Spillman's Family Christmas Tree Farm offered these tips to finding the perfect tree.
Darrell Spillman says your search starts before you leave the house. "Measure your space, know how much room you have to work with," said Spillman. "The width of the tree is going to be half the height and that helps you know what space to put it in."
When choosing a tree, Spillman says you should be able to completely wrap the end of a tree branch around your finger. That shows it's healthy and fresh.
Spillman says needle shed is normal. "It's like human hair, we shed hair, and trees shed needles, but if the tree is healthy they'll grow right back." Spillman says if you see them really thin in the field, than something is wrong with the tree.
