Greensboro, NC - You can tour a one of a kind home and help people in need at the same time.
The Southern Living Showcase Home opens this weekend to benefit the Greensboro Urban Ministry. Just bring a canned food item to the home located at 3203 Hobbs Landing Court in Greensboro.
Our Tom Garcia gave us a sneak peak at the home Thursday on the Good Morning Show. The home has an interior patio, a great room with a stone fireplace and a library with a 13 foot tall bookcase.
Some of the other highlights include interesting design features. Designed on a narrow lot, the home aims to blur the boundary between inside and outside. The design lets light in through an interior court, yet limits the views to adjacent homes. A vaulted two-story space runs north and south through the house to allow additional light to shine through the entire home.
The second floor bedrooms and a loft overlook the open kitchen and living spaces under the transom windows.
To tour the home, just stop by the Southern Evergreen Southern Living Showcase Home located at 3203 Hobbs Landing Court on Saturday, Dec. 1st and Sunday, Dec. 2nd. And be sure to bring canned foods for the Greensboro Urban Ministry with you. They hope to collect 3,600 pounds of canned food in those two days. The home is open from 1pm to 6pm both days.
