Greensboro, NC - A woman saw a need, recruited her friends and went to work.  Rian Mack, returned from the War In Iraq in 2010 and wanted to help homeless families.  So she came up with the Feeding the Homeless event.

The first year, Mack's event helped just over 200 families.  Last year, the number more than doubled to 525 families and the goal for 2012 is to help 725 families.

But her volunteer group needs your help.

They need gently used or new coats, linens, clothes, shoes and toys, as well as toiletry items.

You can drop them off from 3pm-8pm everyday at the Greensboro Sportsplex.  The facility is located at 2400 Sixteenth Street in Greensboro.

The volunteers will hand them out to families in need at their annual charity dinner on December 9th.

For more information, feel free to contact Rian Mack directly.  Her email is or call 336-254-1721.
