Arrest Made In Yadkinville Pharmacy Robbery

Yadkinville, NC -- Police made an arrest Thursday evening in a Nov. 21 pharmacy robbery in Yadkinville.

Officers arrested Jonathan Wayne Smith, 24, of Clemmons, and charged him with robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Investigators say Smith entered a CVS Pharmacy at 8:45 p.m., walked around the store for about 15 minutes and left. Smith returned 10 minutes later and approached the pharmacy counter, according to a news release.

He demanded prescription drugs and threatened to use a gun. The suspect then left the store without any further incident.

Police say, during the robbery, Smith held a medical mask to cover his nose and mouth.

No employees or customers were injured.

Thursday, Yadkinville police worked with the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office and Winston-Salem police to arrest Smith at his Clemmons apartment.

Police will continue to investigate, and more charges are on the way, according to the news release.

Smith was placed in jail under a $15,000 secured bond.
