Asheboro -- Police in Ashboro say a busy street will be blocked until 4 a.m., Sunday morning, because a mortrist hit a utility pole.
The wreck happened around 7 p.m., Saturday night, on South Fayetteville Street near the National Guard Armory. That is very close to the US 64 interchange.
Power crews will have to take the pole down and replace it before reopening the road in both directions. Police have closed South Fayetteville from Dorsett to Atlantic.
First responders took the driver to the hospital. They have not identified the driver and were unable to tell News 2 the extent of the injuries.
