Greensboro, NC-- Early Friday morning, some homeowners in Greensboro's Fisher Park awoke to damaged lawns and police officers.

That's because around 2:00am, a Greensboro Police Officer stopped a woman at the intersection of Eugene and Smith Streets for having an expired license tag on the car she was driving. The woman told the officer that she didn't have her license or an ID.

When the officer went back to his car to verify the woman's identity, she sped off and the officer gave chase, acccording to a Greensboro police Captain. The chase was less than half a mile, but went through several front lawns in the Fisher Park neighborhood and the driver hit a pedestrian sign.

The woman finally stopped in the front yard of one of the homes and was taken into custody. The arresting officer said the woman fell as she was getting out of her car but was not injured.

The driver was identified as 25 year-old Kamlyn M. Apostolo of Jamestown. She is charged with: DWI, Felony Speed to Elude, Driving with Revoked License, Resisting an Officer, Expired Registration, and she was served outstanding warrants on two other DWI charges.

Apostolo was taken to the Guilford County Detention Center.
