Greensboro, NC - The cross town match up between Guilford College and Greensboro College wasn't just about football but about collecting cans. The 16th annual "Soup Bowl" took place Saturday to raise food for the Greensboro Urdan Ministry.
Fans that brought at least 2 non perishable items got in the game for free.
"We've seen it grow and grow and really people get into it and alot of people come out and support it so its really fun to see the tradition," said Helen Mandalinic from the Guilford Hunger Fellow.
Greensboro College collected about 3,800 of canned goods and Guilford College ended up with about 5,200. Giving bragging rights to Guilford College and a trophy named "The Soup Cup."
