Former Catawba Coach Charged W/ Sex Offenses

(Rowan County)  --  After a 2 month investigation, the the Rowan County Sheriff's Department arrested a former Catawba College coach and charged him with three Felony counts of First Degree Sex Offense with a Child, three Felony counts of Crimes Against Nature, and three counts of Felony Indecent Liberties with a Child. 

Ralph Wager, who is currently lives in Charlotte and is employed as a coach at a Charlotte based Soccer Association, was being investigated for inappropriate sexual contact with a child under 10 years old during the 1980's.

Sheriff's  Investigators were joined by the SBI and Charlotte Mecklenburg Police to gather evidence and obtain the warrants for the arrest of Wager.

Wager was placed in Rowan County Detention Center. The investigation continues and anyone with information about this investigation is asked to contact Lt. Chad Moose or Detective Sara Benfield at (704) 216-8739.
