Charlotte, NC-- The person responsible for killing a pregnant teenager has not been arrested. The girl's parents said they know the boyfriend did it.
Hawa Gabbidon's parents told CBS Station WBTV their child murdered after she and her boyfriend got into a fight about having an abortion.
They said Gabbidon was almost two months pregnant.
According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, 17-year-old Hawa Gabbidon's body was found Tuesday morning when a group of men used a wooded path to cut through neighborhoods in the Nevin Community. It happened around 12:30 a.m.
Gabbidon was a CMS student who attended an alternative academy. One of her last known addresses was a center in Charlotte for at-risk females.
Thursday, Deputy Police Chief Kerr Putney said his officers are working around the clock to solve the case, but is asking for the public's help.
"We're going to need your help on this one. we're going to need some tips. we're going need a break to bring this case to conclusion ," Putney said.
Hawa's father, Isaac Parchue says just thinking of how it all happened, makes him physically ill. He told the station that he and wife know she had a boyfriend but they don't know who he is. He seems certain the two were arguing about his daughter having an abortion.
Parchue is begging police to find out who the man is.
CMPD declined to comment to WBTV about the "boyfriend theory." They are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
