Triad -- By the time the clock strikes midnight on New Year's Eve most children and some adults are sleep.
Some places like the Winston-Salem's Children Museum are offering early events so that families can ring in the New Year before bedtime.
Here are some WFMY News 2 was able to find before and after Midnight:
New Year's Eve
-- Noon Year's Eve at the Winston-Salem Children's Museum. Fun starts at 10:00am until 12:00pm.
-- 11:45pm - Running Of the Lights Fun Run at Tanglewood Park. Entry fee: 3 cans of food for Second Harvest Food Bank.
-- Midnightt - Running of the Lights 5K at Tanglewood Park. The run takes you through the Tanglewood Lights display.
New Year's Day
-- 10:00am - 4th Annual Resolution 5K Run at Bryan Park in Greensboro. Entrance is: 10 canned goods for the Urban Ministry.
-- Traditional New Year's Southern Meal - J&S Cafeteria offering free bowl of Black Eyed Peas to go with the collard greens, hog jawls and corn bread.
-- Noon-1:00pm -- Kindness and Meditation in Center City Park, Downtown Greensboro.
-- First Day Hikes at all 28 NC State Parks.
-- New Babies??? Stay tuned to Digtriad and WFMY News 2 and we'll let you know of any New Year's Baby born in the Triad.
