High Point, NC -- Bragging rights are bragging rights, whether you're talking about the big dance or the fierce competition at a math spelling bee!
Kids from five different area Boys and Girls Clubs squared off to test their spelling and math skills. Each team was armed with pencil, paper, and a buzzer. Nine-year-old Shaniah Smith said they practiced a lot, and the hard work paid off. "We had a sheet and it was alphabetical order with the words in it and we practiced. [...] we [sat] at the table together and we [held] up the words asking them to spell it."
The math and spelling bee was part of a full week of events happening at Boys and Girls Clubs around the Triad as they celebrate National Boys and Girls Club week.
