Greensboro, NC -- A group of local middle college students literally took a stand to combat texting while driving.

Students from the Middle College at Bennett, Bennett College, and North Carolina A&T walked to raise awareness about the dangers of texting while driving. The event is part of their National Day of Awareness for Texting While Driving.

Seniors Anesiah Huff and Dekia Virgil had a strong message for drivers.

"Accidents are increasing everyday, and it is not safe to drive and text. In a split second, its not worth it, texting and driving. One message could be your life and its not worth it, so please do not text and drive."

Don't forget, you can take our Great Hang Up Pledge, encouraging all drivers to put down the phone while behind the wheel.
