Greensboro -- Deon Johnson and her son Markel took to our Drive to Survive distracted driving course to learn how some of their driving habits may be dangerous.
They both had to drive a car at full speed while listening to loud music and texting - then make a sudden turn when commanded by an instructor.
Markel was first to go and when the instructor told him to go left he went completely off-course to the right.
His mom didn't fair much better when she was told to go right she swerved to the center and then went left.
Both said they learned valuable lessons and will turn down the music and not text the next time they drive.
