Greensboro, N.C. -- Learn to square dance, have fun and live in good health. You'd never know it, but the benefits are amazing.
The Swinging Stars Square Dance Club performed Monday on the Good Morning Show.
Susan and Randy Bowers talked about the group but also its many health benefits; including reducing the risk of dementia.
"Physical and mental exercise are very important for brain health," explained Susan. "Square dancing combines these two activities and is so enjoyable to learn and do," she added.
Susan's husband Randy and dance partner loves it just as much. "I was given the choice between square dancing and Yoga and I chose square dancing," said Randy, who is very happy about his decision. "We just love it."
The Bowers say square dancing is very easy to learn to do. You can try it for yourself on Thursday, February 6, 2014. The Swinging Stars Square Dance Club is having a Free Open House Introduction to Western Square Dancing at 7:15pm. It's at the Lindley Recreation Center located at 2907 Springwood Drive in Greensboro.
