Local Kids Perform For MLK Day Celebrations

Greensboro, NC -- Local children at Peck Elementary School formed an orchestra of string instruments and showcased their talents on The Good Morning Show.  This is the same performance they will feature at The International Civil Rights Center and Museum on Monday January 20th.

Here is a list of the activities involving area kids.

12:30 p.m.:  

Story Time featuring the children's book I've Seen the Promised Land :The Life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

1:00 p.m.: 

Fun Ways to Learn about Dr. King (Puzzles and Games)

1:30 p.m.: 

Let Freedom Ring Concert Featuring Clara Peck Elementary School Orchestra & Chorus

Talented beginning violin students from this local Guilford County Elementary School joined by instructors and students from the music department at UNC-Greensboro will perform in concert celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Chorus students from this culturally diverse student body will sing and artwork depicting civil rights events will be on display. Monetary donations or books for the school media center will be accepted.
