Harambee! Kwanzaa Arrives In The Triad!

Greensboro, N.C. -- The Greensboro Kwanzaa Collective is hosting its fourth annual week-long Kwanzaa Celebration and has planned exciting cultural events for each day.

"There will be a customary libation and candle-lighting ceremony, storytelling, drumming and dancing along with community building, an African Marketplace, arts and crafts and more," explained Dawn Tafari.

Thursday on the Good Morning Show, the group talked about the meaning of Kwanzaa, displayed the traditional foods and even showed off their music and dance.

Kwanzaa is a celebration of family, community and culture which starts on Thursday, December 26, 2013 and ends Wednesday, January 1, 2013.

The Greensboro Kwanzaa Collective invites you to join them in their 4th annual celebration this week.  All events are free and open to the entire community.

The 2013 Kwanzaa events will take place as follows:

December 26th & 27th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bethel AME Church, located at 200 Regan Street in Greensboro.

December 28th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the International Civil Rights Center & Museum, located at 134 South Elm Street in Greensboro.

December 29th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bethel AME Church.

December 30th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bethel AME Church.

December 31st from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Bethel AME Church.

January 1st from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bethel AME Church.
