The American Heart Association says "many American adults spend most of their waking hours at sedentary jobs, and their lack of physical activity raises their risk for a host of medical problems, such as obesity, high blood pressure, and diabetes."
They're working to change this by starting a dialogue with companies on how to make workplaces healthier. This Friday, they're having their first "Fit-Friendly Symposium: Breaking the Rules with Wellness event"at NewBridge Bank to start the conversation. They're looking to show you fun wellness can be and debunking myths of the cost. Wellness coordinators and HR professionals will be there to answer any questions you might have.
A company that successfully implements these positive changes could be considered a "Fit-Friendly" company by the AHA. This means, you have gone above and beyond the call of duty to ensure your employees are living a healthy life.
The event is this Friday from 11:30a.m. to 1p.m. at NewBridge Bank at 1501 Highwoods Boulevard Suite 400 in Greensboro. RSVP by emailing Ruth Heyd here or call 336-707-3134 for more information. Admission is free and you get a free heart healthy lunch, too!
