GREENSBORO, N.C. -- We love surprises on the Good Morning Show.  Monday, with the help of Habitat for Humanity and the West Market Street United Methodist Church Youth Department, WFMY News 2's Tracey McCain surprised two very deserving families.

Irma Santos and her three children Jassenia, Erica and Timothy had no idea why there at the studio.  Neither did Joel and Tiffany Green and their four children, Johntae, Nalazjah, Naoni and Nia.

The only thing they knew was what they had in common.  Both families have purchased Habitat Homes and helped as volunteers built them from the ground up.

"We are very excited. We watched the house go up in a week's time," said Green. "I was just so amazed.  I didn't think it was possible."

"I can't wait to move in," said Santos.  "It's a big Christmas for my children.  It was well worth the hard work," she said.

The West Market Street United Methodist Church youth department came up with a way to give back to the community and be a part of the Habitat for Humanity Raising Roofs effort.

The children and their youth pastors walked into the studio carrying books they collected and shelves they made by hand for the families.

"It's amazing, I love helping and that's what I love to do," said youth volunteer.

Over the month, the church collected more than 300 books and built seven book shelves.

"With everything going on in the world, it means a lot to me," said Santos after seeing the gift.
